Vaginal
Candidiasis
Do you know that there are a variety of women
who suffer through the stigma and embarrassment of having a vaginal yeast infection? Its true. The more scientific
term for this condition is vaginal candidiasis, and it's really something that most women can create on their own
with over-the-counter medication. You'll know if you have a vaginal yeast infection as a result of the fact that
you're experiencing discolored discharge as well as experiencing some degree of odor emanating from your vaginal
region.
There are a variety of reasons why a woman might experience
vaginal candidiasis, but let's talk about exactly what causes the
condition. Typically, you will only get a vaginal yeast infection when a variety of bacteria within the vagina
begin to grow uncontrollably. There needs to be more than one type of bacteria in the vaginal region for this
chain reaction to occur. Once the bacteria begins to grow, you start to see the discharge that is multicolored
in nature as well as to experience the odor which can be quite strong.
Some medical experts believe that women who are sexually active are
more prone to vaginal yeast infections as a result of risky sexual practices. For example, it is not uncommon for
women to partake in both anal and vaginal sex. If their sexual partner is not careful and reinsert his penis within
her vagina after it was previously inserted into her anus a possibility exists that enough bacteria will be
introduced to the vaginal area to cause the onset of vaginal candidiasis symptoms.
If after pursuing a traditional course of treatment the problem
doesn't eliminate itself after about a week, you should go see your doctor.
